Four Seasons Hotel, Budapest

I stayed at the Four Seasons Hotel in Budapest at the end of October 2016 for a few nights in to November on a business trip. The hotel is breathtaking, located in Gresham Palace, it is a unique art nouveau landmark which combines historical elegance, ultra-modern comforts and Hungarian luxury.

I stayed in a Danube River View Room for 4 nights and received exceptional service as one would expect from any Four Seasons property. The highlight of the room was the unobstructed view of the Danube River and the historic Chain Bridge, the Buda Hills, the Royal Castle and the Fisherman’s Bastion. The room was ultramodern, comfortable and about 33-42m2 (355 – 452 sq. ft.) in size and was spacious for one person but still provided a cozy atmosphere.

The hotel’s architecture is incredible, old, adorned with detail and history. I would rank this Four Seasons on par with the experience I received at the Four Seasons Milan which is a 15th century convent. It’s always unique to receive Four Seasons standards in luxury and service in a hotel with a historic location.

I thoroughly enjoyed the hotel’s amenities and used the 12-meter (39 foot) pool to relax. I also booked a deep tissue massage for 60 minutes and received a fantastic treatment. The spa amenities at the hotel were akin to a small beachside resort, a unique feature of the hotel which is situated in the heart of a major European city.

I ordered room service on several occasions and tried the Bolognese Pasta and a Caesar salad. The food was delicious as expected from Four Season standards and service was quick. I also sent my clothes for laundry and dry cleaning and the housekeeping responded promptly and brought me my clothes back in a timely fashion ahead of my business meetings.

I would definitely stay at the hotel on my next visit to Budapest. Four Seasons service is unparalleled and incredibly consistent across their properties globally. The Four Seasons Budapest ranks as a top 10 Four Seasons hotel for me. For your next visit, be sure to book a room with a Danube view, savor Hungarian wine from the bar lounge, use the pool and spa facilities and pamper yourself with a deep tissue massage treatment.
